our baby wash.
Vitamin E. Vitamin E is an antioxidant,
which helps in the prevention of cancer. It improves circulation and is necessary in tissue repair.
It has healing properties, reduces scaring and is beneficial in promoting overall
healthy skin. So far vitamin E has been shown to protect us against approximately 80
diseases.
It is an important ingredient in our Day Face Cream.
Our hydrating day face cream
We also add vitamin E to our Multi-purpose Cream, Day and Night Face Creams,
Hand and Body Lotion and Foot Lotion.
Our natural skincare products
Interestingly... Do you know that people are recording low
levels of vitamin E in their bodies, due to our reliance on over processed foods which leach out
vitamin E?
Good sources of vitamin E are dark green leafy vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains, brown
rice, eggs, milk, kidneys and liver, soya beans, sweet potatoes and a host of herbs such as flax
seeds and rose hips.
Vitamin A. Vitamin A will help skin
disorders such as acne and is needed for the maintenance and repair of epithelial tissue
of which the skin is composed. Vitamin A, like vitamin E, is an antioxidant helping to
protect cells against cancer and many other diseases and is necessary for new cell growth. This
important vitamin also slows the aging process.
Mabel Maybanks prefers to use pure vitamin A, which applied to the skin will reduce fine lines
and help fade age spots. A deficiency in vitamin A can cause dry skin and hair.
Vitamin A is added to Mabel Maybanks Day Face Cream and to Night Face Cream.
Interestingly... The sources of vitamin A can be found in
animal liver, fish liver oils, green and yellow fruits. Foods that contain sufficient amounts
of vitamin A are apricots, asparagus, broccoli, carrots, mustard, papayas, peaches, pumpkins, red
peppers, spinach, sweet potatoes, watercress and yellow squash and most herbs. Animal sources
are up to six times stronger in vitamin A as vegetable sources. Interestingly, antibiotics,
laxatives and some cholesterol lowering drugs interfere with the absorption of vitamin A.
Vitamin C. Vitamin C is also an
antioxidant that is required for at least 300 metabolic functions within our
bodies, including tissue growth and repair which are essentials in the formation of our
skin. Vitamin C helps with bruising and promotes the healing of wounds including
burns. Our bodies cannot manufacture vitamin C so it must be obtained through diet or
in the form of supplements which is why vitamin C is added to Mabel Maybanks Night Face Cream.
A deficiency in vitamin C include gums that bleed during brushing, susceptibility to
infection especially colds, joint pain, lack of energy, prolonged wound healing time and
bruising easily.
Vitamins A, E and C are added to our night face cream along with organic essential oil of Roman
Chamomile.
Interestingly... Sources of vitamin C are berries, citrus
fruit, green vegetables, herbs such as fennel seeds, kelp, peppermint, paprika, parsley, red clover
and rose hip. Supplements are numerous but you should avoid using chewable vitamin supplements
as these can damage tooth enamel.
